Welcome to Sunshine Papillons
Home-raised puppies from our family to yours
We're a small breeding program — and we like it that way. Fewer litters means more time with every single puppy. Our dogs live in our home, our puppies grow up under our feet, and every placement gets the care and thought it deserves.
Health tested, every generation
Parents are health tested before breeding; puppies are vet checked before they leave.
Raised in our home, not a kennel
Daily handling, household sounds, and early socialization build confident puppies.
Support for life
Our relationship doesn't end at go-home day — call us any time, for any question.

Available Puppies
We are welcoming interest for the current season. Rather than maintain a changing list of individual puppies, we connect with families personally and share availability as plans are confirmed.

The dogs behind the puppies
Meet Our Papillons
Every great puppy starts with great parents. Ours are health tested, well-socialized, and very much part of the family.
Why families choose them
Why a Papillon?
Signature butterfly ears
Their name means butterfly in French — and those large, fringed ears are unmistakable anywhere they go.
Affectionate companions
Papillons thrive on family time. Expect a shadow that follows you from room to room and melts into your lap.
Perfect size for any home
At just 5–10 pounds, they fit apartments, small yards, and travel life beautifully — with a big-dog attitude.
Great with kids & pets
Properly socialized Papillons are gentle, playful and get along wonderfully with children and other dogs.
Smart & eager to please
Papillons rank among the most trainable of all breeds — they pick up tricks and manners remarkably fast.
Health-tested parents
Every one of our dams and sires is health tested before breeding, and every puppy gets a vet exam before going home.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are your puppies AKC registered?
Yes. Every Sunshine Papillons puppy comes with full American Kennel Club registration papers, along with their veterinary exam record and vaccination history.
Can we visit the puppies before reserving?
Absolutely. Once the puppies are old enough, we welcome visits from families — and we're happy to set up video calls in the meantime so you can watch your puppy grow.
When can puppies go home?
Puppies go home at 8 weeks minimum, once they are fully weaned, socialized and have had their veterinary exam — never before they're ready. We'll agree on a go-home date together.
How much does a Papillon puppy cost?
Our puppies are $2,000 to $3,000, depending on whether the puppy is male or female. Every puppy is raised and socialized in our home and goes to the vet for a full exam and all their shots before going home.
How do we get our puppy?
Most families pick up their puppy at a location near them. If you're further away, we can arrange shipping for a small fee.
How does reserving work?
Start by contacting us and sharing what you're looking for. We'll explain the current availability and next steps personally.

How big do Papillons get?
Papillons are a toy breed. Adults usually weigh 5 to 10 pounds and stand 8 to 11 inches tall at the shoulder.
Do Papillons shed? Are they hypoallergenic?
Papillons have a single silky coat with no undercoat, so they shed lightly. No dog is fully hypoallergenic, but regular brushing keeps shedding low.
Are Papillons good family and apartment dogs?
Yes. Papillons are affectionate and adaptable, and their small size suits apartments as long as they get daily walks and play.
Are Papillons easy to train?
Papillons are among the most intelligent dog breeds. They learn quickly, love to please, and respond well to gentle, positive training.
How much exercise does a Papillon need?
Moderate exercise is enough: a couple of short daily walks plus indoor play and puzzle toys keep a Papillon happy.
Do Papillons get along with kids, cats, and other dogs?
Well-socialized Papillons usually get along with cats and other pets. Because they are small, supervise play with young children.
